3. Set Your Price
Unbeknownst to many healthcare professionals, it is commonplace for clinical educators and their practices to charge a fee to professional schools or learners in exchange for providing clinical rotations. Based on demand, location, and reputation, a weekly rate of 250 to 500 dollars per learner is not uncommon. It only makes sense to be rewarded for your dedication to developing the future of your profession. Those who establish a reputation of excellence in providing clinical education services (e.g., higher learner ratings), have the ability to set a higher professional fee.
On the other hand, rooted in the tradition of clinical education is the concept of “paying it forward”. This is a much supported principle of Clinical Rotation. Those who desire to offer free clinical education services to learners as a duty of their healthcare profession are able to do so here.
Note: Clinical Rotation supports the different views of all clinical educators, which is why we leave the decision to charge for hosting clinical rotations completely up to you!
